Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using NutriJourney, including our mobile application, web platform, and related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the service. Continued use of NutriJourney after any modifications to these terms constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

2. Service Description

NutriJourney is a metabolic intelligence platform that provides:

  • Comprehensive food tracking with detailed nutritional analysis covering 110+ nutrients per food item, including amino acids, fatty acid subtypes, vitamins, and minerals
  • Body composition analysis integrating InBody scan data, weight trends, and trust-weighted progress tracking
  • Adaptive TDEE calibration that continuously refines your energy expenditure estimates by comparing predicted vs. actual weight changes over time
  • AI coaching via JUNA, a personalized nutrition coach that provides context-aware guidance, proactive check-ins, and metabolic insights
  • Restaurant marketplace for ordering meals that align with your nutritional targets, including bulk meal prep and premade options with macro filtering
  • Gym partnerships for body composition scanning, equipment access, and trainer-guided programs

3. Health & Fitness Disclaimers

This section is critically important. Please read it carefully.

  • NutriJourney is NOT a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition
  • NutriJourney is NOT a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions regarding a medical condition
  • InBody bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) has known limitations and measurements may vary based on hydration, recent meals, exercise, and other factors. Results should be interpreted as estimates, not clinical measurements
  • TDEE, BMR, and calorie predictions are mathematical estimates based on available data. Individual metabolism varies and actual energy needs may differ from calculated values
  • JUNA provides guidance and suggestions, not medical diagnoses or prescriptions. JUNA's recommendations are based on general nutritional principles and your personal data, not clinical evaluation
  • Always consult healthcare providers before making significant dietary changes, beginning a new exercise program, or if you have existing health conditions, food allergies, or eating disorders

4. Age Requirements

  • You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use the general features of NutriJourney
  • You must be at least 18 years of age to use body composition features, purchase a Premium subscription, or place orders through the restaurant marketplace
  • If you are between 13 and 18, a parent or legal guardian must review and consent to these Terms on your behalf

5. User Content

  • You retain full ownership of all data and content you submit to NutriJourney, including food logs, photos, recipes, and body composition records
  • By using the service, you grant NutriJourney a limited, non-exclusive license to process, analyze, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you
  • You may export your data at any time in a machine-readable format, including nutrition logs, body composition history, and JUNA conversation history
  • You may delete your data at any time by deleting your account, which will permanently remove all personal data within 30 days

6. Subscription & Billing

  • Free tier is available with limited features, including basic food logging and community access
  • Premium subscription starts at $9.99/month and includes advanced metabolic calibration, full JUNA coaching, restaurant marketplace access, and detailed nutrient analytics
  • Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on your device platform
  • Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
  • Refunds are handled according to the refund policies of the respective app store through which the purchase was made
  • NutriJourney reserves the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers

7. Intellectual Property

The following are the exclusive property of NutriJourney and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws:

  • The NutriJourney brand, name, logo, and associated trademarks
  • The JUNA AI personality, coaching system, and system prompt architecture
  • Metabolic calibration algorithms, including the adaptive TDEE calibration loop, trigger correlation engine, and trust score system
  • Food scoring formulas, including glycemic index estimation, PRAL calculation, fullness factor, nutrient density scores, and omega ratio analysis
  • All software code, designs, interfaces, and documentation

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • NutriJourney is not liable for any health outcomes resulting from following nutritional recommendations, JUNA coaching suggestions, or metabolic targets provided by the service
  • NutriJourney is not liable for the accuracy of third-party nutritional data sourced from USDA FoodData Central or Open Food Facts
  • NutriJourney is not liable for variations in InBody body composition measurements or discrepancies between predicted and actual metabolic results
  • In no event shall NutriJourney's total liability exceed the aggregate subscription fees you have paid in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim
  • NutriJourney shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service

9. Account Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us. Upon deletion, all personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days
  • NutriJourney may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, including but not limited to: abuse of the service, harassment of other users, attempted unauthorized access, or fraudulent activity
  • Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Any unused portion of a prepaid subscription will be refunded on a pro-rata basis at our discretion

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in our service, legal requirements, or business practices. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through an in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of NutriJourney after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
